My first ever designed polyester wallpaper, printed on the largest sheets ever, was actually inspired by the print on Abigail Owuo’s (Stormzy’s mum) dress she wore in the portrait of them two (shot by Olivia Rose after Stormzy gave a talk at Oxford Uni) – Big up wallpaper wizard Colin for helping me realise my vision of a wallpaper / space representing a mother’s wall to wall love…
So during my ‘Coming Home’ PINStallation at the Museum of Croydon , I’ve met so many diverse people, young and gold, from diverse backgrounds enter the space. One such group was The Cedar View Care Centre guys who whizzed down, and of course I gave them the full tour / breakdown of what the project was about, to which they positively responded and got involved in designing their brick boxes 🙂
Special thanks to Karen, who works at the Centre, for not only bringing the guys down but also for her enthusiasm in doing so, and really embracing the creativeness of it all, by literally creating a ‘PINShrine’ of the day in their reception area at the Centre – how random, how cool *Big up Kaz!…
Happy to announce my latest PINStallation is at Museum Of Croydon ‘housing’ the portrait of Stormzy and his mum Abigail Owuo, photographed by Olivia Rose (part of the National Portrait Gallery permanent collection) and currently on loan at the museum until 28th September 2019.
COMING HOME is a major project which will see the National Portrait Gallery lend portraits of iconic individuals to places across the UK with which they are most closely associated.…
