Mumzy came to see my face in the ‘Croydonians’ Exhibition at the Museum of Croydon – on until April 😍
One of my first ever portrait shots i’m actually happy with (normally hate them), taken by the talented Alfie Shillingford, the exhibition shows past & present faces of Croydon including composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, who’s musical career actually helped create the PRS for Music back in 1914 partly as consequence of the deliberations over Coleridge-Taylor’s finances when he died in 1912 🎼✊🏽
Other fellow Croydonians include: Kate Moss, Stormzy, Emily Blunt, Tracey Emin, David Lean, Philip Green, Vicky Pollard…the greatness is real, come to Croydon, ha
“Ideas for days, but execution pays!” – A personal quote I live by, afterall, we all have them…ideas…few take action, most don’t…glad I did on this one…
So the Museum of Croydon were organising their first #ClocktowerLate event to commemorate the 100 years since WW1, and suggested I get involved to do some sort of Peace mural. I got thinking, like really explored the notion of Peace, how war effects it and what it means to people today.…
‘Plate of Peace’ anyone? – A unifying art installation engaging audiences into serving their peace through design, one plate at a time🌹
To commemorate 100 years since World War 1, Museum of Croydon will be holding a Clocktower Late on Friday / 6-9pm – a free event showcasing the impact of the war through music, art & film. I’ll be in full peace making engagement mode, so feel free to pop by, grab a plate and serve your peace – which will be exhibited alongside others to form a bigger peace of the plate pie until 13th Nov.…
Thankyou to fellow Thornton Heath designer Samantha Warren for including me in her local Banner Project® involving local artists & residents living in the area, helping to celebrate the spirit of the area and beautify the streets, one banner at a time 😍Check them out on Melfort Road, Thornton Heath if about *This will require some #PhoneDownLookUp action…
Located in Trumble Gardens Playground, Thornton Heath, local Art Activists Frank & Surel (sweet couple) initiated a project to help clean up the playground and surrounding gardens which can often be neglected and super uninspiring to the local youth. Well, they got in touch with moi and was only too happy to help out, as I figure if we as artists are able to inject & enrich our local areas with a positive message through our art, than hopefully it’s a start to strengthening communities which can often be disconnected at times…simply realising the power you have to make a positive shift in a small way can actually make a big change, slowly but surely…once again though, most want change but do eff all about it…time to TAKE ACTION, NOT WACKTION®
Shout out John (caretaker *makes a mean cuppa) Courtney, Zoe & Eric (dog) who each gave 10/10 on playbility factor 🙂
