Saw YBA Gavin Turk down Art 16 couple days ago, proper cool dude if don’t already know, so cool, his ‘pink hat / blue suit’ swag totally matched my foot swag on the day, so obvs we took a shot in front of his splendid Project Beard, an art project to benefit his children’s educational charity The House of Fairy Tales, where he depicts himself as the famous artists of the 19th & 20th Century such as Matisse, Dali, William Morris, Man Ray, Rodin and Cezanne.…

THINGS AND INK THE ARCHIVE EXHIBITION 1

So the #TIArchive exhibition kicked off last week with up to 80 artists / illustrators / tattooists contributing their artwork to each of the magazines, helping not only to celebrate the end of a print-run era for Things & Ink, but to raise money for The One Love project via auction.

The auction runs until 16th April with the chance for you to bid and own the original artwork, currently on display at The Circle for the same duration.…

I’ll be taking part in an exhibition by Things&Ink (the most amazingest tattoo magazine ever!) entitled The Archive, a group show celebrating more than three years and 12 issues of Things&Ink, by artists who have contributed to the magazine to turn back issues into original works of art.

Opening on Thursday 31 March, and running for two weeks, at The Circle, in London’s Soho, to raise awareness for The One Love Project, with profits from sales being donated to the grass-roots, creative organisation, providing education, health and opportunity to the underprivileged street children of Pushkar.…

AI WEI WEI – ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS

Caught the recent Ai Wei Wei show at the Royal Academy and it was quite possibly the best show I’ve ever been too, just WOW!

The level of craftsmanship, conceptual language used and overall depth / scale executed by Chinese artist Ai through his works was totally inspiring…

I wasn’t too familiar with Ai’s work and background prior to the show, but have since immersed myself in his world both as artist and activist (and architect), which is both fascinating and revealing, of one man’s quest to create the most truest art, by any means necessary!…
