HEAD INTO NATURE – CREATIVE SESSIONS @ MORDEN HALL PARK, NATIONAL TRUST

This August I’ll be joining Morden Hall Park, part of the National Trust, for a series of free creative sessions for young people aged 14 to 18yrs.

CHILD OF THE DIVIDE – Bhuchar Boulevard: Workshop session / Play Reading @ ROSE COMMUNITY CLUBROOM

Had the pleasure of facilitating a workshop session with theatre maker Sudhar Bhuchar for her ‘Child of the Divide’ play based on the Partition of India (1947) for members at the Rose Community Clubroom, Ascalon Street, SW8 4AX

As a reference point, I shared some illustrations based on oral recordings from victims of Partition, which were commissioned by the National Archives UK back in 2023 for an educational resource pack for UK schools.…

SIKH & EXPLORE HERITAGE – CREATIVE SESSIONS @ SIKH GURDWARA SOUTH LONDON

Dad was born in Nakuru, Kenya in 1944 & Mum in Punjab, India in 1950. They got married in 1972 in Nairobi, Kenya. They arrived in the UK in 1972 & started their life together in a house flat in Wandsworth, London. Being outsiders in an unknown land, they adapted & adopted new ways of living, but never forgot their Sikh faith & found a sense of community in a local gurdwara (Sikh temple) which was being built around the corner from where they lived.…

RITA KEEGAN FOUNDATION – LOGO DESIGN COMMISSION

I recently received a commission to design a logo for the Rita Keegan Foundation which was nice, as it allowed me to re-connect with my graphic design roots and create something meaningful for an artist / legacy project.

I enjoyed the process of researching more into Rita Keegan & her practice over the years, working across print, photography, film, sound, textiles & installation – someone who was quite a trail blazer co-founding the Brixton Art Gallery & becoming an important figure in the Black Arts Movement. …
