Thankyou to fellow Thornton Heath designer Samantha Warren for including me in her local Banner Project® involving local artists & residents living in the area, helping to celebrate the spirit of the area and beautify the streets, one banner at a time 😍Check them out on Melfort Road, Thornton Heath if about *This will require some #PhoneDownLookUp action…
My Artist Residency at Museum of Croydon is now over…:(
Can honestly say the Vibe® during my Residency at the Croydon Clocktower over the last month, connecting with a super diverse audience was unique and humbling, all through art & personal engagement, all in-flow, all in…MAKING CONNECTIONS, CHANGING PERCEPTIONS®…think I’ve found my ‘thing’, so will continue…Big love to all those who made it down, connected & and even had a cuppa with, I truly value these sublime off-line moments…and special shout out to the Museum team for being super accommodating and allowing me to ‘do my thing’, Thankyou ❤️
Located in Trumble Gardens Playground, Thornton Heath, local Art Activists Frank & Surel (sweet couple) initiated a project to help clean up the playground and surrounding gardens which can often be neglected and super uninspiring to the local youth. Well, they got in touch with moi and was only too happy to help out, as I figure if we as artists are able to inject & enrich our local areas with a positive message through our art, than hopefully it’s a start to strengthening communities which can often be disconnected at times…simply realising the power you have to make a positive shift in a small way can actually make a big change, slowly but surely…once again though, most want change but do eff all about it…time to TAKE ACTION, NOT WACKTION®
Shout out John (caretaker *makes a mean cuppa) Courtney, Zoe & Eric (dog) who each gave 10/10 on playbility factor 🙂
I’ll be doing a month long Artist Residency with a full on #PINStallation taking shape over the time period, in the hope to not only raise more awareness that the place even exists (only realised it was here a year or so ago), but more importantly to connect & engage with wider a demographic through art, especially young people, those who may not be familiar with the likes of the Tates & V&As, or cos travelling up to London ain’t cheap, and sometimes just wanting something in local settings that they can actually relate to, in some way, would make sense…anyway, I’m gonna be at the Museum from the 25th Aug onwards, feel free to drop by, connect, and please spread the word if you know of any young creatives or whoever that may benefit making a visit down or from taking part in my series of ‘Tech A Break Here’ Workshops, one of which kicked off today, designed to get you off them phones and into full creative zones, peacefully…
Was recently involved in a group show entitled ‘An Exquisite Mess‘ (Think Wallace Collection meets Burning Man Fest) – Set in the lovely private home of designer Haley Mclane down in Clifton Gardens, featuring a mixed bag of 30 artists, DJs and live performance artists.
The whole night was a vibe I have to say…some quality artworks and a nice mash up of people…oh, and the food 😛 Was just nice to experience a full on show inside a house other than a gallery for a change, really helped shape the vibe and enjoyed the way people responded to the works, as if you could say, this was their house for the night, that homely feel without that clinical / stuffy vibe of a gallery, if you know what I mean…
Big up Haley on putting it all together alongside art curator India Dickinson, and all the other artists involved…special shout out to my guy Carlos for the connection, Whiskey, Henry, Sequinkay, Adam & Fred…Big up the Staircase going into the ceiling too *Features!…
