One day of attention
Toast a glass
All smiles
Until day done

Next day, less fun
High expectations
Without inner love
Leads to empty
Surface hug
Materialised states
Comparisons made
Bitter tastes
It’s not what you get
It’s time you waste
Valuing things
Without a real place
The moment counts
But should be felt
Beyond a day
If real love is dealt
