CULTURE SHOCK – CHINA

Went to Guangzhou, the third largest city in China, randomly with my mate Kate a while back…literally one of them spur of the moment things, no plan, just BLAM! It turned out to be a pretty cool trip, kinda hot when we went around early September, which I didn’t expect, one of them stick icky ones…defo a culture shock coming from LDN, but always one to be open to new experiences…

The area we were staying was mad built up with peeps (FACT: apparently there’s more than 15million peeps alone in Guangzhou which is now about to merge with eight other cities to create a metropolis twice the size of Wales with a population of 42 million, creating the world’s biggest mega city)

The driving out there was crazzzzzzzzzzzzy!…

Mmmmmmmmm…was expecting more from each of the artists on this one, ie some weighty bars on current subject matter…oh well, all for a good cause and totally support that positive ishhh…how sweet (and purrrtty) does Tulisa sound on the hook though…X Factor defo gave her wings n ting!

MONIKER ART FAIR 2011 – RECAP

Managed to hit up Moniker Art Fair in Shoreditch over the weekend…it was pretty good…and it was FREE unlike Frieze!!

Galleries exhibiting at Moniker included Stolenspace, LeBasse Projects, Scream, The Garage, Abel & Baker and Andenken Gallery.

The vibe was contemporary street, experimental and abstract with a mash up of Artists from all over including Aiko (Japan), Banksy (UK), Beejoir (Thailand), Ben Eine (UK), Best | Ever (UK), Cash For Your Warhol (USA), D*face (UK), Dabs & Myla (Australia), Greg Miller (USA), Herakut (Germany), Jaae (Canary Islands), Jaybo (France), Matt Small (UK), Nate Frizzell (USA), Peeta (Italy) , Marco ‘Pho’ Grassi (Italy), Pure Evil (UK), Roa (Belgium), Rero (France), Russell Young (UK), The London Police (Holland), and Word to Mother (UK).…
