A Portrait of Central Hill and Zimmers of Southall 1 & 2 Screening – Directors Q&A with Hark1karan & PiNS
During Lockdown 2020, I went out around my local council estates & promoted free ‘Sketch The Vibe’ sessions for anyone who needed a creative way to get through the tough time of being indoors & isolated. One of the estates I ran these sessions was at Central Hill Estate, and remember how strong the community spirit was there when walking around, meeting residents (mindful distancing) & exploring the architectural delights that popped out in random spots. In a sense, this creative intervention back then, would go on & continue to inform my wider practice to make the arts more accessible to the widest groups in society.
Fast forward to now, and I’m hosting a Q+A with good mate, photographer & filmmaker Hark1karan with filmmaker Alex Donaldson – presenting their latest short documentary, A Portrait of Central Hill – deep diving into the stories from local residents that often go unheard – as well as screening Zimmers of Southall 1 & 2, celebrating the Indian car community that loves a classic BMW or two, or three, differently…big up @RajDraws on design visuals!
Thankyou to @MetrolandCultures & @BrixtonCommunityCinema
Hope to see you there 🙂
