LECCOMILANO BAR MURAL
Recently got invited to paint a mural piece for one of the hippest bars in Milan, LeccoMilano, so obvs I went and did my thang…
Now the last time I went to Milan was way back in Uni days as part of my Fashion course to seek out trends etc etc, and all I could remember was the crazy mileage of shops, that cobbled paving which simply annoyed my feet when walking over it and when the shops closed at lunch time and you had to wait til 3pm or so for them to open, long!
This time though, it was a work thing, so was good to go back and see the place again with fresh eyes and wiser perspectives…
The vibe of Leccomilano is straight chilled by day, and vibesy by night serving the most amazing food and their own specially flavoured cocktails, with different events happening on rotation each week. The general decor / style of the place is a mash up of different styles but it just kinda works, with these lacy electric wires hanging from above in my almost exact (couple shades off) PINSy colours, meant to be!
This by far was one of the coolest bars I’ve been to with a mash up of different people, and even though not much of a drinker, the non-alcoholic options and food buffet was delishhh, with a less ‘get wasted and act like a twat’ vibe as we have more here in London bars / pubs and more of a ‘balance the drink with a food buffet’ vibe, so more emphasis on getting the belly / tipsy levels right…
Thanks to the owner of the bar, Paolo, for letting me paint whatever I wanted, he’s one dude I greatly admire in general as he virtually started this bar from nothing, and within two years has managed to create a poppin’ place and vibe, plus his drive and energy to create the kind of environment he always wanted really inspired me going forward…
