YKK LONDON SHOWROOM – SHUTTER ARTWORK
A sweet commission for YKK London Showroom in Shoreditch a couple weeks back, who needed something super fresh for their shutters…
About YKK: Founded in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida in Japan, YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha. The company develops a range of fastening solutions including zippers, fabric tapes, buttons plus more, and can be seen on many of the worlds leading fashion & accessory products. Plus they work alongside some of London’s top Fashion & Design schools offering workshops led by some exceptional talents such as YKK Ambassador Kei Kagami (Great guy, great work). So check your zips, if they don’t have YKK on them, they ain’t proper and are more likely to mash up (me now out here clockin’ every zip like…)
The artwork I produced will form the basis for a 6-week showing of fresh work inspired by / using YKK products taking place early April 2019…pretty excited to tap into my early Fashion Design roots and re-birth them into the process…
Thankyou to the lovely Katie for connecting me to the YKK team > Kei & Sabine, who were a pleasure to work with, as was my team, Carlos & Dave on visuals…
Shutter artwork available to view mainly over the weekends and after 6pm during weekends, if around the area > 154 Commercial St, London E1 6NU
