PINS - The Artist. The Brand. The Donuts.

The London-based artist formally known as PINS, specialises in various media including airbrush design, graphic design and spray can art. His creative roots lie in Fashion design from which previous clients have included Usher, Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey and Cheryl Cole to name but a few. At a young age, he has followed a progressive path from completing a BA HONS Fashion with Business Degree, a year later winning Best Customiser of the Year 2006 at the UK Urban Fashion Awards, selling his clothing at festivals such as Glastonbury/Bestival and at various fashion/music events.

PINS has also provided his artistic talents to various schools/community based organisations in various parts of London, where he has designed and delivered programmes for Creative Workshops allowing young people to actively take part and express themselves creatively, whilst motivating and encouraging individuals to stay off the streets and follow a productive route.

Progressing into a small but perfectly formed brand, the PINS brand is based on exclusive clothing and art fused together by initial concepts inspired by everyday life. Using his bold illustration and graphic style, PINS is able to convey his thoughts and create the desired meaning with a twist on the obvious. Influenced by the likes of Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol, PINS mixes the bold with the surreal, encouraging the viewer to think and see things differently. All products are limited to retain exclusivity, and are only sold via the Online shop and selected events.

PINS world is where Food and Trainers take centre stage. His passion for both is pretty immense, and is getting worse day by day. PINS uses donuts and trainers in his work to represent various ideas about desire, consumption, love, money, success and randomness; all of which are themes actively explored in his work.

“I have come to the conclusion that I feel almost the same as I do when I visit my local Krispy Kremes and choose my favourite donut as I do when I go to Size (Sneaker land!) and select my favourite pair of kicks. The experience is almost the same, you take a deep breath as you go in, you are presented with a range of styles/flavours to pick from, your belly rumbles, and you decide which one(s) to select…you gotta feed your creativity!”

Until next time, Stay sharp like....
